CONNECTING YOU

People who call us looking for help are screened and scheduled for an evaluation. You’ll be assigned a case manager who will work with you to determine what kind of treatment would work best, and to get that treatment as soon as possible.

TYPES OF AVAILABLE TREATMENTS

Cambria County Drug & Alcohol Program connects people to a full array of services. Depending on your individualized treatment plan, these services can include but are not limited to:

  • Detoxification

  • Residential rehabilitation

  • Halfway houses

  • Partial hospitalization

  • Various levels of outpatient care

  • Support groups

  • Early Intervention services

COUNSELING FOR FAMILY MEMBERS

We understand that addiction is a “family disease” in that it has a profound effect on the family and friends of people who are struggling. Cambria County Drug & Alcohol Program can refer family and friends for counseling and support groups to help them break out of patterns of codependent behavior and find healthier ways to cope with a loved one’s substance use disorder.

CERTIFIED RECOVERY SPECIALISTS

As part of your treatment, Cambria County Drug & Alcohol Program can connect you to a Certified Recovery Specialist. A CRS is a specially-trained person who is in long- term recovery – in short, they’ve been where you are, and will help you as you work toward your own recovery. Anyone over the age of 18 is eligible to have a CRS participate in their recovery. Your CRS will:

  • Serve as an active member of your recovery team, but as a peer rather than as a care provider
  • Help you re-integrate into the community and meet others in recovery
  • Respond appropriately to risk factors and help keep you safe
  • Be a role model of a person in recovery
  • Maintain confidentiality

WOMEN WITH CHILDREN

Women with limited family supports who are parenting young children may believe they are unable to obtain needed drug and alcohol treatment because there would be no one available to care for their child. The Cambria County Drug & Alcohol Program offers a specialized type of treatment known as “Women with Children” treatment. Available in both residential and halfway house settings, women enrolled in Women with Children treatment are able to be accompanied by up to two children, aged 12 and under, to the treatment facility. Daily care is provided to pre-school aged children and school-aged children are enrolled in educational programming through the local school district. Mothers obtain the treatment they need while families remain together.
